The new Southwest Tower is the centerpiece of CHOC's enterprise master plan, establishing a dynamic space that houses both outpatient and research facilities. This new 9-story, 333,000 BGSQ building will be our newest, multi-specialty, diagnostic and treatment tower.

The construction of the new Southwest Tower at CHOC has reached a key milestone! The final beam, which was covered in staff, donors and the city officials' signatures, was placed atop the steel structure on May 11, 2023.

This is just one more step towards CHOC's vision of providing comprehensive outpatient services in a patient- and family-centered environment of our community and beyond!

The new Neuroscience Unit (NSU) will be located on the seventh floor of the Bill Holmes Tower. Our NSU's new home will expand our ability to offer comprehensive and state-of-the-art care. Construction on the new NSU has begun and is slated to open in the fall of 2024.

In McCarthy’s October Southwest Tower progress video, the building’s exterior is nearly complete, showcasing impressive advancement toward the June 2025 opening.
